Music Ministry

St. John’s Music Ministry offers welcoming opportunities for people of all ages to sing, play, ring handbells, and share musical gifts in worship throughout the year. From Sanctuary Choir and youth music programs to Bells of Praise and individual Ministry of Music volunteers, there are multiple opportunities for both experienced and new participants to get involved in a supportive, faith-centered community.

St. John's is blessed with a very active adult choir

Do you love to sing? Come join Sanctuary Choir and meet some like-minded music friends! All ages and abilities are truly welcome. Rehearsals are 7- to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays September through May. We're a fun-loving group of welcoming singers led by very experienced and dedicated musicians.

Sanctuary Choir provides choral music for Ministry of Music during Worship two Sundays a month and a few other services throughout the year. No sign-up necessary; please join us for rehearsals Wednesday evenings. Give us a try; stay because you are loving it!

Wednesday afternoon Music Exploration

for grades K-5

Part of Wednesday's FAITH ZONE is Music Exploration from 4:50 to 5:15 p.m. in the choir room.

We'll be singing, playing music games and talking about how so many cool and fun songs are based on scripture. One of our goals is to learn songs that we can bring to Sunday Worship to share with the congregation.

Make a joyful noise with St. John's Youth Choir

The cool kids are in the choir room on Wednesdays.

St. John's Youth Choir rehearses Wednesdays 5:15 to 6 p.m., and sometimes there are treats ...

Come join a talented and fun group of singers from grades 6-12. We sing occasionally during 9 a.m. worship, 6 to 8 times per music season. The Youth Choir joins the Sanctuary Choir to present a Christmas Cantata in December and also during Music Sunday in May.

Good singing abounds, but Youth Choir members also regularly play their band instruments and hand drums during choir anthems.

Do you play guitar? That would be amazing? Trumpet? Boy, do we have opportunities for you! Prefer to just sing? Perfect. We need ALL the singers!

No sign-up is necessary. All are truly welcome!

Bells of Praise are ready for the 2026-27 music season

Four rehearsal and performance session dates have been set for Bells of Praise.

NOW is the time for current ringers to mark your calendars. NOW is the time for NEW RINGERS to come aboard!!

Can't ring for all four sessions? No problem; just let us know. Not sure if handbells are for you? Come give it a no-obligation try!! Want to just observe a rehearsal? Ministry of Music volunteers need throughout the year

Do you sing? Play an instrument?
St. John's invites YOU to offer your time and talent to enhance our worship on Sundays when the choirs are not scheduled to offer Ministry of Music.
And you don't have to do it on your own. Our music staff can help you choose and find music, accompany you if needed, and coach you through the whole thing.
If you're not ready to share your musical talents right now, let us know when you're ready: There is always a place and time for you to share your musical talents.
